It’s all about where you live, weather conditions and environmental factors. Coastal cities which line the ocean should have their windows cleaned most often. Monthly or Bi-monthly will help keep corrosion from the salt deteriorating your windows life expectancy. If salt sits on the window too long it will start to discolour them as well. Don’t be mistaken, you interior panes are also exposed to the salt and will require cleaning.
Humid climates like Toronto will need their windows cleaned quarterly. We would also recommend homes by construction sites, or in very high traffic areas. Also should have their windows cleaned quarterly and interior windows semi-annually. This will ensure the glass and windows stay clear and unscratched.
For city like Calgary or Edmonton who see harsh climates changes it is recommended that residence try to get their windows cleaned semi-annually. Clean your windows to help minimize scratching and etching along with any possibility of discolouration. Windows generally will not develop hard water stains with a semi-annual cleaning. It is imperative you wash all windows at minimum annually, if not your windows longevity will diminish quickly and you will find yourself replacing them all together at a large expense. An annual cleaning minimizes the deposits on the window and will reduce the chances of developing hard water stains.
